Timmy was still hiding behind the dumpster with his mom. They were quickly enjoying some nachos, while doing so in silence. Timmy was thinking about the previous day. Where had that boy gone? Timmy's mother said that she was going to go do some shopping. Timmy wanted to join her, but she said that it was to risky. He was also in a wierd mental state- thinking that the missing boy was his fault. He shouldn't have run to get his mom. He should have helped the boy. But what is past is past, Timmy told himself. When his mother had gone for a little while, he decided to go to bed.
Timmy woke up later that evening, when his mother shook him up. She was yelling that they had to leave instantly. Even without their belongings. Timmy suddenly smelled smoke. When they had gotten out from behind their dumpster, Timmy saw a huge, soaring blaze of fire. The inferno was deadly hot, and the little boy soon saw people running in fear. The boy wondered how this could happen, because almost everything is made of metal or concrete, which can't burn! Timmy asked his mother this question, who said that without a doubt, that this was no accident....

2100 continued...
Anfernee was fast asleep. He was dreaming of his friend John, and his family. Then, he terrible tragety came into his mind. He knew that the dream wasn't real, but he wouldn't, and couldn't, wake up. He started to get chilled. He tried to move, but his arms and legs were stuck fast. He tried to open his eyes, but they were shut tight. He also felt a sharp pain in the back of his neck, along with the feeling of dreaded nauseation. Why couldn't he move?!!

2100 continued...
Anfernee saw the newspaper that the boy was reading. It was dated from the early 2090s, just before the ozone layer completly collapsed. He knew that during that time period, that the world still had trees. Small ones, anyway. Anfernee suddenly came out of his subconsious state, after hearing a nearby car. He looked around, just before everything went black.
Timmy was closely watching the older boy. He was looking at his newspaper, and appeared to be sad. When a small car drove by, the boy turned around and suddenly, for no apparent reason, fainted. Timmy ran to check on the boy. He looked around 14 or 15, and was grubby like he was. There appeared to be no apparent injuries, but Timmy went to get help anyway. When he returned with his mother, the boy was gone.

Anfernee was strong and wild. He was used to runing. While the small boy strong and fast as well, Anfernee was older, and he knew all of the alleyways in the city. Anfernee was almost at the point of catching up to the boy, when he suddenly escaped from view. Anfernee looked around, and finially started heading back.
Timmy was tired and weak. Although he had strong legs, his endurance was low. He wouldn’t have been able to run from the boy much longer. Good thing that he had the hideout behind the dumpster. He replenished his energy, so that he could spy on the boy. He knew that he shouldn’t, but his curiosity got the better of him.

California Trip
My Adventure Ed. Trip to Santa Barbara was truly a memorable experience. It helped me in many ways, and I do not regret ever going on this trip. Not only did it help me become fitter, but it also was fun, although sometimes difficult, and it helped me learn more important things.
I would have to say that the funnest part of the trip was when we first got onto the island. We were completely finished unpacking our tents, and so we set out to explore. Right next to camp was a very large hill, which we set out to climb. A group of us climbed up the steep and slippery slope, until we got to the top. On top was a magnificent view of the coast and farther up mountains. Those mountains looked huge! Below us was a shady group of trees, under which we lounged under and ate trail mix. Later that evening, we played a game called mission impossible, where there are two players who are it. They shine light around the goal, to stop us from winning. It was a blast! That was the easy and fun day. The next day was certain to be more difficult.
The next day was the toughest day all week. We were to travel to a beach on the opposite side of the island. First, we just strolled through trails out of camp. Then, the difficult part arrived. Our group climbed a hill much steeper than the day before. It lasted longer too. After what seemed like hours, we were halfway there. But that is not to say that downhill isn’t tough also. The trails were rocky and steep, and it lasted longer than going up-hill. Our reward was some oranges found near the beach. Boy were they good! The way back was no piece of cake either. It was just like the way down, except in the dark! We were certainly relived to be back in camp.
Probably the most important thing I learned on the trip was to not squander money. I wasn’t as bad as some other people who had to borrow money, but it would have been good not to eat mountain house on the way back. I could have saved more when we were only arriving at Santa Barbara by train, by not buying snacks to quench my hunger. Also, I shouldn’t have bought food on the boat, when I least needed it. Hunger was sometimes my problem, when I had to save enough money for buses, and also tried to conserve money. I’m glad that I’m still healthy! I will certainly be more conservative from now on.
This trip, as I mentioned earlier, was truly a changing experience. I learned a lot, and also had lots of fun. I’m so lucky to be able to have this opportunity, and I think that more schools should have programs like this. I hope to have a trip like this again soon!

2100 continued...
Timmy was riding with his mom. He was having a hard tim keeping up, because he didn’t have strong legs. They were on an old road, one still made by tar and asphalt. They turned into this dark alleyway. There was trash covering the ground, no lights, and it was a dead end. Timmy’s mother led him to a trash can that appeared to be against the wall. In reality, there was a small hatch behind it. They crept inside. It was a small room, with all the necessities- couch, bed, table etc. They lived there for one year, ocasionaly going out to get food, exercise and check the news. Anfernee had wandered the streets for a year. Begging for food, sleeping in shelters, and getting random tips for cleaning the streets. He was hopeless. One day, he saw a boy by a dumpster, reading a newspaper. As soon as he saw Anfernee, he got up and ran. Anfernee followed him, while trying to get his attention.
He never did.
He never did.

2100 Continued...
Timmy was fast asleep. He awakened in the middle of the night, when he felt a slight cool breeze. He got out of his broken bed to close the window. While he was at the window, he saw a flickering light in the distance. It looked like someone holding a flashlight, but who would be up this late? He decided to forget about the weird light, and so he went to sleep.
The next day, he decided to go look by the riverbed, where the light seemed to come from. There, he saw tracks. Car tracks. But why? Not any car would travel in soft soil like this. These questions ran through his head as he and his mom got ready to leave, although they were traveling to who knows where?
Anfernee came running out of his house. He had to run away. Far away. So that nobody could find him. Because what he saw was so horrible, so graphic, so surreal, that he had to leave now.
